>> General Questions
Trackur is an online reputation monitoring tool. With Trackur you can setup searches and automatically monitor the web for keywords that are important to you.
Trackur is the perfect solution for anyone that wants to track news, blogs, and other social media. You can track your own name, your company brands, industry trends, or even your competitor's news! In fact, you can monitor any keywords you wish.
Why should I use Trackur when Google Alerts is free?
Google Alerts only monitors content available through one of Google's search engines. Trackur monitors many more web channels than just Google. In addition, Trackur allows you to save items, sort them, share them via email, and subscribe to an RSS feed--Google Alerts offers none of these features.

Is there a catch with the 14-day free trial?
Nope, none at all. You can use Trackur Standard free for two weeks. We're so confident that you'll love Trackur that once you try it, you'll want to sign up.
How do I select the 14-day free trial?
When you create your Trackur account, you'll be given the option to purchase a service plan or simply proceed to a two week free trial
What happens after the free trial finishes?
Once your 14-day free trial has ended, you will need to select and pay for one of the service plans in order to continue.
Why isn't there a free trial for the Pro or Enterprise versions?
The Pro and Enterprise versions allow you to set-up multiple searches and run them as often as every hour. If we offered that to everyone on a free trial, Trackur would come to a grinding halt. We suggest giving the Standard service a spin, then, when you're ready to upgrade, make the switch.
We offer three different service levels, so there's a Trackur plan to suit most needs and budgets. Trackur Standard is just $18 per month, Pro is $88 per month, and Enterprise is only $197 per month. Compare this to the many monitoring services that charge thousands of dollars per month.
>> Performance Questions
How often does Trackur update?
When you first run Trackur, you should see the results within seconds. After that, Trackur will update depending on the service level you selected (Standard, Pro, or Enterprise).
When I first run Trackur, it takes a long time, why?
If you're the first person to ask Trackur to monitor "blue widgets" it might take a minute or two for it to collect all of the data. Once Trackur has conducted this first search, you should see your scheduled updates without any lag.
When I first run Trackur, it shows items that are old, why?
The first time you run Trackur, we include some older items so that you can see Trackur is accurately working. After your initial search, Trackur will update with items as they are discovered. You may still see older items, but this might be because they were recently discussed.
Is Trackur's accuracy guaranteed?
We're confident that Trackur will discover around 99% of the web content that matches your entered keywords. However, we can't control the entire internet, so we unfortunately can't guarantee that it will unearth everything.
Can I pick which sources Trackur monitors?
Trackur gives you the ability to define the type of content you want it to monitor. For example, if you're not interested in monitoring video and image content, you can "text only" under "advanced search."
Trackur is returning too many results.
No problem. You can use Trackur's filtering to show only those items that include the keywords that matter to you--and filter out those that don't.
What's the difference between "Must Include" and "Does Not Include" filters?
"Must Include" keywords tell Trackur that you wish to see items that include that particular keyword. For example, if you searched for "Apple" as your main keyword, adding "iPhone" in the Must Include field would reduce the results down to only those that mention "Apple" and "iPhone."
"Does Not Include" keywords tell Trackur to filter out any items that include these words. Again, if your main keyword was "Apple" then adding "fruit" to the Does Not Include box would make sure you don't see food related items.
When using "Must Include" or "Does Not Include" I sometimes see results that should be filtered.
Trackur is only able to filter the content it's fed. It's still possible that the actual web page will include--or not include--your filter keywords. For this reason, we suggest starting with just your main keyword, then adding filter keywords if needed.
Can I use multiple filter keywords?
Sure thing. After each filter box you'll see "[Add+]" - click that and you'll be able to create additional filters.
If you enter more than one keyword, we give you the option of displaying items that only include those exact words, in the exact order you enter them. If you don't select "Exact Match" Trackur will show you items that include those words in any order.
>> Billing Questions
What are the payment options for Trackur?
All payments are securely processed using PayPal. You can pay via any major credit card or bank account transfer and you don't need to set up an account with PayPal.
When you pay by PayPal it creates a monthly subscription payment that is automatically charged based on the service plan you have chosen.
How do I cancel my Trackur account?
You can cancel your subscription payment with PayPal at any time. We don't provide partial refunds, so suggest you cancel close to your renewal date.
We're working on account management features that will allow you to fully delete your account. In the meantime, should you wish to completely delete your Trackur account, please send your request to support@trackur.com.
>> Privacy & Security Questions
Yes, the searches you conduct and save will never be shared with anyone outside of Trackur--unless some belligerent Judge forces us. Even then, we'd put up a fight!
We use load-balanced, backed-up servers provided by Rackspace--the industry leaders in hosting.
Can I share my Trackur account?
Yes. You are welcome to pass on your account name and password to anyone you wish. Keep in mind that you then become responsible for the privacy of your data--including your payment info.
>> Miscellaneous Questions
Will Trackur tell me which stories are positive and which are negative?
Not at this time. Sentiment analysis is notoriously difficult, and no company has mastered an automated approach to it. For example, the phrase "Apple's iPhone is wicked bad" would cause headaches for even Google!
Trackur found an attack on my reputation, what should I do?
Trackur doesn't offer reputation management and repair services, but its CEO, Andy Beal does. May we suggest you pick up a copy of his book, Radically Transparent, or check out his online reputation management consulting services.
